Goal entry Week 4 in Entrepreneurial Finance
“A step towards what you fear is a mile towards mastering it.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo
This course mostly helped me with my last listed and most important objective:
- To stay focused and work on all my classwork and turn it in on time every week and earn a high GPA as well. After I earn my master’s I do plan to earn my Doctoral degree soon after so one step at a time and I will reach my goals with diligent effort and hard work.
My most important objective that my entrepreneurial finance course taught me has to go for my goals even in uncharted territory. To see all of my intentions please click on the intention’s tab on the WordPress site included below. I have been very nervous about succeeding in this class because I usually suffer with math classes. I have learned how to work with my instructor and peers every week to stay focused on the goal of graduating by doing all assignments to the best of my ability. I have been brave enough to ask for help and seeking the use of school resources to collaborate toward success which has been the most valuable lesson of all.
I have learned how to read, identify, analyze, write, and create financial documents in order to produce fiscal business proposals which can lead to investors when I have my full business plan created. Also, better time management that will assist in creating accurate financial documents as well as being able to categorize all financial variables to avoid poor miscalculations that could cause a bad outcome.
What I have learned about finances has made me hungry to know more. I have done well on some assignments which gives me confidence to try and keep learning about finance and being a great business leader in my company. I will apply the skills acquired to my personal and professional finances and business choices as well. I enjoyed learning about the value of time and money as well as how to compare financial statements. This class helps with budgeting, investing and creating business plans.
Week 4 Digital Mastery Journal Entry 02/02/2020
Month One, for your Mastery: PDL Timeline Slide

- What was your original goal for this course? MY goal was to use digital media and gain new clients. The most important lesson I feel I learned is that you can only use one channel for marketing one goal at a time. For example, in order to gain newer clients. I would have to select a channel with the best key performance indicators and create a marketing strategy to gain clients from that channel. This requires using analytics and paying attention to what metrics are working for each web page. My original goal was very easy to create but its solution became way more complex and very informative than ever expected.
- How was this goal met by the course? The goal was met in this course by giving me different techniques, resources and tools to be more efficient in having measurable goals. This course has informed me on how to connect every post with an analytical website on google that will assist in using marketing strategies more efficiently. By spending more time paying attention to measuring the marketing attempts my company will have a better chance at getting it right by changing when where how and what content is put in front of customers online and via direct mailing.
- What did you learn from this course? I did learn from this course is that there are a million ways to market but you need to measure any of them. The reason some marketing attempts fail is because they are more of a shot gun effect instead of a sniper approach at the correct targeted audience. I also learned that direct mailing is still a huge part of having an integrated marketing approach and will help my company be more successful.
- How will you apply the material learned either personally or professionally? I will apply what was learned in this course to assist with all future marketing efforts. I feel I can reach a higher level of mastery with these newly learned marketing strategies and techniques by trial and error. I’m looking forward to trying different strategies of the next few months to find out which processes will work best to gain more clients.
